This painting was an idea for the first artshow I participated in. It was shown at the 'BodyTribe' gym in Sacramento, the theme for the show was 'Anatomy'.

This painting and 'Mr. Wang gets a physical' were both based on the anatomy theme.

I picked Mona Lisa because my friends and I were watching an old Doctor Who story called the City of Death. In the story an alien was commissioning Leonardo DaVinci to paint 6 Mona Lisas. So I wondered how difficult it would be to copy the painting. My girlfriend (at the time) suggested that I make her skinless matching the anatomy theme, which made it more interesting than just a plain copy.
