Muffin the Clown

My first painting of the year, my friend Muffin as a clown.
The story starts when I was preparing to submit a painting based on the subject 'Mayhem' to a gallery in SF. I took pictures of my friends looking frightened for the piece and when I took a picture of Muffin he didn't look frightened.
I put the 'Mayhem' painting on the backburner and started inking an eight page horror comic penciled by Nik and written by Muffin. Muffin's comic company is called 'JoeDon' comics.
After I finished the comic, Nik, Temple, Brandon and I decided to have a painting contest, with a 'Clown' theme.
During the '06 Alternative Press Expo (A.P.E.) I displayed the painting at the 'JoeDon' booth and I got a lot of comments from people who thought I painted 'John Wayne Gacy' the similarity in pose was totally unintentional.

Right: As you can see Muffin doesn't look frightened in this picture, but it's a great pose for a Clown.

Muffin currently owns this painting.

Left: Nik's clown for the contest.

Middle: Temple's clown for the contest.
Brandon also painted a clown but I don't have a picture of it.
We don't pick a winner for the contests we just do it for fun.

Right: This is the painting by "John Wayne Gacy" that some people thought I was imitating. I didn't even know who he was until they pointed it out.
