Salt, Glitter and Glass. The second painting from the 'Jack Frost' cartoon. Jack Frost warned the little grizzly bear that 'Old Man Winter was coming. He found the bear, to see what happens, watch the cartoon.

I really tried to make this piece as cold as possible, the only warmth was from the little bear. I tried something different with this painting. The background was a wet wash with salt sprinkled onto it and when it was scrapped off it left neat patterns. I then painted the snow and the figures. Next a glitter varnish was applied to the snow around the figures and with a second coat of varnish in the foreground I sprinkled tiny Glass balls that stuck to the varnish.
